So in our recipe it is better to use varieties like "King Edward" or Russet Burbank. For our potatoes with sour cream and garlic, we took the royal blood variety, which was already mentioned earlier. The result exceeded all expectations: the potatoes turned out to be loose, aromatic and juicy. Want to try? Let's start then.

    Ingredients:

    • Potatoes - 600 g
    • Sour cream - 150 g
    • Garlic - 2-3 cloves
    • Bulb onions - 1 pc.
    • Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
    • Dill - to taste
    • Salt, pepper - to taste

    How to cook potatoes with garlic and sour cream:

    1. Prepare products for cooking potatoes with sour cream and garlic in the oven. You can take sour cream of any fat content and vary the amount to your liking. If sour cream is high fat, add a little milk. Peel the onion.

    2. Cut the potatoes into thin slices.

    7. Potatoes with sour cream and garlic can be baked simply on a baking sheet, or in the form. Lubricate the form with vegetable oil, lay out 1-2 layers of potatoes. Add a little onion between the layers.

    8. Grease with sour cream sauce. If the sauce is not too salty, you can add some salt to the layers of potatoes. Let's make 5-6 layers of potatoes, brush with sauce on top. I put the form in an oven preheated to 200C for 30-35 minutes. If necessary, you can add 100 ml of water.

      Coat the finished potatoes with onions with sour cream sauce. If the sauce is salted enough, the potatoes are not salted more, otherwise the layers must be salted and possibly pepper. But now we add 100 ml of water and send the potatoes to the oven preheated to 200 degrees for 30 minutes

    9. Grate cheese on a coarse grater.

    10. Remove the baking sheet from the oven, use a fork to check the potatoes are ready and add grated cheese on top. Leave the dish in the oven for another 5 minutes. Potatoes with sour cream and garlic are ready in the oven.

      After the allotted time, pierce the potatoes with a fork and check their readiness. Sprinkle the finished potatoes with grated cheese and put them back in the oven for another 5 minutes.

    The benefits of the dish

    Turning to the benefits of this wonderful dish, we immediately note that, in comparison with fried potatoes, such a baked potato will definitely be less fatty, and therefore more useful.
