Such pancakes are obtained with a light brown tint, chocolate flavor and an incredible mouth-watering aroma!

    The history of the dish

The appearance of the first pancakes was recorded by historians as early as the 5th century BC. in ancient Egypt. Thin sour cakes, similar to pancakes, were prepared using starters of natural origin. But the most widespread pancakes were in Russia. Pancakes were baked for all holidays and important events throughout the year - pancakes were fed to a woman in labor and commemorated the dead, seeing off the winter and meeting the harvest time.

Today we will cook chocolate pancakes with milk and cocoa. The recipe is quite simple, so if you have baked pancakes at least once in your life, it will not be difficult at all. We add cocoa powder to the dough to give an appetizing color and chocolate flavor, and then we bake pancakes and invite the family for a delicious breakfast!

    Ingredients:

    • Wheat flour - 220 g
    • Cocoa - 3 tbsp. spoons
    • Milk - 500 ml
    • Chicken egg - 3 pcs.
    • Sour cream - 2 tbsp. spoons
    • Salt - 0.5 tsp
    • Sugar - 3 tbsp. spoons
    • Vanillin - 0.2 tsp
    • Vegetable oil - 2 tbsp. spoons
    • Butter - 50 g (for lubrication)

    Cooking plan:

    1. The recipe for pancakes in milk with cocoa is similar to all other pancake recipes - mix everything and bake. We will prepare all the ingredients for the dough, it is very convenient when everything is on the table and you do not have to be distracted by searching for the components in the cabinet or refrigerator.

We prepare the ingredients for pancake dough, put them on the work surface

    2. We start cooking chocolate pancakes with milk with cocoa by preparing the dough. Crack the eggs into a deep bowl. I recommend driving each into a separate plate and only then adding it to the dough, so you won’t spoil it if you get a rotten egg. Add sugar and mix with a whisk.

We combine eggs with sugar in a deep bowl

    3. Add vanillin, salt to enhance the taste, vegetable oil and sour cream to the eggs and sugar in a bowl. Sour cream can be used with any fat content, you can also replace it with unsweetened yogurt.

Combine sweet eggs, vegetable oil, vanillin, salt and sour cream in a bowl

    4. Pour half of the milk, 250 ml, into the bowl with the rest of the ingredients. Do not add all the liquid at once, so that it is easier to knead the dough. In a large amount of milk, lumps of dry flour are much more difficult to break.

We add half the norm of milk to the bowl to the dough

    5. Sift wheat flour and cocoa powder into the dough for pancakes with cocoa powder. Using a fine sieve will help break up the cocoa lumps and remove any unwanted impurities from the flour, if any. Mix with a whisk until smooth.

Add the sifted wheat flour and cocoa powder to the bowl with the dough

    6. Pour in the last ingredient - the remaining milk. We mix it with a whisk, and the dough acquires the consistency of a shiny, liquid emulsion we need.

We add the second half of the milk to the bowl to the dough, mix again with a whisk

    7. Be sure to leave the pancake dough to stand in a bowl before baking for 10-15 minutes, so that the flour releases gluten, the ingredients of the dough β€œmake friends” and pancakes in cocoa milk do not tear during baking.

Leave the dough for 10-15 minutes on the proofing table

    8. With a culinary brush (or a feather, as before), grease the pan with vegetable oil and pour a ladle of dough into the center onto it. Then tilt the pan in different directions so that the dough spreads over the entire surface of the bottom of the pan. Fry over medium heat for 1-1.5 minutes until the surface of the pancake becomes dull and bubbly.

Pour a ladle of dough into a heated pancake pan and spread the dough along the bottom. Fry on one side for 1-1.5 minutes

    9. As soon as the dough β€œgrabs”, it ceases to be liquid, we pry the pancake from the side with a fork or spatula and turn it over to the other side. We fry for another 30-40 seconds.

We bake pancakes in a pan for 30-40 seconds on the other side

    10. So, in turn, fry all the chocolate pancakes with cocoa. Ready pancakes are stacked one by one, the edges can be greased with butter. But this stage can be skipped, without oil, pancakes will be less high-calorie, and the edges of chocolate pancakes will be slightly crispy.

We put the pancakes one on one on a wide plate and grease the edges with butter

    11. So a delicious and beautiful breakfast for the whole family is ready - pancakes with cocoa powder in milk. From the indicated number of products with a frying pan diameter of 24 cm, about 20-25 pieces are obtained.

    12. Pancakes are best served immediately, while they are warm. You can roll them into a triangle, pour over chocolate sauce or sour cream and decorate with fresh berries and mint leaves. Or wrap fruits (for example, fresh pears or bananas) or curd mass in them, cut pancakes into strips and mix with fruit yogurt - it all depends on your culinary imagination!

    Benefits of food

Pancakes are a fairly high-calorie dish. It is thanks to the increased content of carbohydrates that they saturate the body with energy for the whole day and give a quick feeling of satiety. Cocoa powder in the composition of chocolate pancakes gives the body melamine, which protects against ultraviolet radiation, normalizes hematopoiesis, and calms the nervous system. And thanks to serotonin and dopamine in cocoa, a person who has eaten such a pancake will be much happier than others).
