    Hi all. Today we are preparing shortcakes on kefir. With us it will be something similar to cookies, but if you add less sugar, it is quite possible to get something like snack bruschettes. I am sure that many are familiar with pickles, croutons, airy rice cakes. So our version is a sweet alternative to all these already slightly fed up sweets. But before we start cooking kefir cake in the oven, we'll talk a little about the history of similar dishes.

    History of the dish

    Cookies are a flour product, which is most often cooked round. There are a great many of them from dairy and almond to those that are cooked on kefir, as in our today's recipe. Every self-respecting country has its own shortbread. So Baturin and poppy seeds are a Ukrainian invention, salty and Uzbek with cumin, spicy - Georgian and others. According to custom, butter, eggs and flour serve as the basis for shortbreads, and milk, kefir, sour cream, yoghurt, yogurt are used as a liquid ingredient - in general, whoever is much more.

    Moreover, as we mentioned earlier, such shortcakes can be dessert, that is, sweet, or they can be spicy, spicy and even salty and used as a snack. By the way, I personally like the last option much more. Honestly, I would never say no to dessert. So let's get started and use the most successful recipe for making kefir shortcakes.

    Ingredients:

    • Kefir - 125 ml
    • Sugar - 110 g
    • Flour - 250-300 g
    • Butter - 25 g
    • Egg (s1) - 1 pc.
    • Salt - a pinch
    • Soda - 3 g

    Cooking:

    1. Prepare the ingredients. Put the butter in advance - it should be soft.

      To begin with, we will prepare the necessary products and, most importantly, soften the butter at room temperature in advance

    2. Pour sugar into a bowl, add an egg and butter.

      In a bowl, combine soft butter, granulated sugar and an egg

    3. Beat these ingredients with a mixer.

      Using a mixer, mix everything

    4. Sift the flour, add salt and soda.

      Now it's time to pour soda from the dough and sift the flour there

    5. Pour kefir.

    6. Knead a soft, non-sticky dough.

    7. Roll out a layer of dough with a thickness of at least 1 cm, cut out the shortbread blanks with a shape.

      The finished dough must be rolled out into a layer about a centimeter thick and with the help of a mold to give out the shortcakes themselves

    8. Put the workpieces on a baking sheet covered with parchment for baking, grease each workpiece with a beaten egg, sprinkle with a little sugar, send it to bake in an oven preheated to 180 degrees for 20-25 minutes.

    9. We serve to the table.
