    History of the dish

    I want to note right away that today we are not talking about the usual American pumpkin pie based on shortcrust pastry, but about a dessert of a different kind. So we will not tell his most famous story. Although it should be noted that it was the Americans who first fell in love with cooking different dishes from pumpkin. In general, they became the founders of a whole pumpkin cult, which is still successfully glorified to this day.

    And the first pies were generally cooked at the base of the pumpkin itself: it was cleaned, mashed, mixed with honey and spices and returned to its place to be baked in the oven. This is how the pumpkin immediately became both dishes and the pie itself. Today, the process has improved significantly and the cake is already baked from dough, and sometimes a base and filling are used. We have prepared one of these options for you in our recipe. So, get ready - we start baking pumpkin pie and offer its classic recipe.

    Pie Ingredients:

    • Baked pumpkin puree - 420 g
    • Eggs - 3 pcs
    • Sugar - 1.5 cups
    • Refined vegetable oil - 1 cup
    • Flour - 1 cup
    • Baking powder - 2.5 tsp
    • Salt - 0.5 tsp
    • Ground cinnamon - 1.5-2 tsp
    • Lemon zest - to taste
    • Ground ginger - optional as well as other spices

    For glaze:

    • Curd cheese - 200 g
    • Powdered sugar - 150 g
    • Lemon juice - 1 tbsp.

    How to make the easiest pumpkin pie:

    1. First of all, you need to cook all the products and the main thing is pumpkin puree, and for this I baked and puréed slices of peeled pumpkin with a blender;

    2. Now let's deal directly with the dough and first we break eggs into a bowl;
