We are finally together again, dear readers, and today our hero is a simple and understandable snack - a puff with ham and cheese. Everyone can cook this, especially if you remember that we suggest taking the dough ready-made. Fortunately, now there are plenty of such options on the shelves of supermarkets. Puff pastry can be yeast and yeast-free, sweet and not very sweet, from different flours and in different oils. In general, the options are apparently invisible, and we will use one of these today. But first, let's talk about history.
Puff pastry is a small puff pastry confectionery product with practically any filling. They can be cooked with berries and fruits, poppy seeds and nuts, jam and, of course, ham or cheese, and sometimes, as we have today, with both ingredients. Puff pastry ham and cheese puffs are more a product of modern fast food than a gourmet snack from the time of Claudius Gele. In our urbanized world, everything is aimed at optimizing processes, and, sadly, it also touched on cooking.
Today, everyone is trying to do it quickly and for the future, from dough and fillings to frozen preparations of the dish itself. Whether this is good or not is debatable, but fresh from the oven, but not frozen, will definitely be tastier than what has been lying around in your freezer for months or even worse. And therefore, even if we have already sinned with a frozen dough with filling, we will not allow this and we will treat its preparation as responsibly as possible. So, we are preparing puffs with ham and cheese from puff pastry.
Puff pastry is not good. Alas, but such is life. But for that, if the guests are at the door, and there is nothing to feed, then puffs with ham and cheese and their recipe are the very thing. Yes, it’s quite possible to take such a yummy for a picnic so as not to bother with a snack. And puffs can be prepared with different fillings and this makes them a universal snack in the arsenal of any housewife. Is it really tempting? What do you like to bake?
