Such tasty, crispy and very fragrant they will become a real gift for any feast. And if with sour cream and in a bite with cracklings - in general a song. But this is already as you like, but for now a little history.

    History of the dish

    First of all, we note that in Ukraine zrazy is a national dish and it was here that they were made the way we used to see them. And although zrazy appeared a long time ago, they are still loved and revered and, at any opportunity, they are happy to cook. And not only in Ukraine, but throughout the entire post-Soviet space. Most often, zrazy is made from mashed potatoes and stuffed with a variety of yummy things from minced meat to cabbage and even cheese, as we are today. It is not for nothing that our recipe for potato zrazy will be with cheese, because this is the most popular and most versatile of all known toppings. You can replace it with any other if you wish.

    As for the historical facts of the origin of this wonderful dish, it was not the Ukrainians who came up with it, but the Italians. From Italy, thanks to the Sforza family, the zrazy first came to Poland, and from there to Ukraine, where they took root as relatives. According to legend, Bona Sforza, the wife of King Sigismund the Old, the mob loved these potato cutlets and often ordered them to be cooked. And over time, the dish gained unprecedented distribution in the vastness of Eastern Europe where it is prepared and today it has received the status of a national one. And here the imagination is limitless.

    They prepare potato zrazy with mushrooms and cheese, potato zrazy with meat and cracklings, zrazy with cabbage and no filling at all. Cooking methods also differ, that is, potato zrazy with cheese or other fillings can be cooked in the oven and in a frying pan, and today they are increasingly being made in multi-ovens and even on the grill. In general, human imagination has no boundaries. And we will prove it to you right now.

    Ingredients:

    • Peeled potatoes - 300 g
    • Flour - 3 tbsp.
    • Salt - 1 tsp
    • Hard cheese - 60 g
    • Fresh parsley - 3-4 sprigs
    • Vegetable oil - for frying
    • Breadcrumbs - 4 tbsp.

    Cooking:

    1. We clean and wash the potatoes, rinse the parsley.

    2. Set the potatoes to cook until tender in salted water.

    3. In a bowl, combine finely chopped parsley and cheese, grated on a coarse grater.
