    Сливовый пирог

In this review, we will talk about dessert. We will prepare a plum cake with apples and crispy nut meringue. We chose this recipe for a reason. In an abundance of various confectionery products, this one seems to us the most unhackneyed, quite unusual and at the same time incredibly tasty. And most importantly, with such a dessert you can always surprise your guests, even those whose tastes are too pretentious. We received this plum cake and its recipe from a confectioner whose creations are able to satisfy the most demanding requests, and therefore we dare to hope that you will appreciate it. But before moving on to the most step-by-step cooking recipe, let's talk about historical facts, about the methods of its preparation and the benefits of the dish.

    History of pies

A pie is a fried or baked pastry dish that requires a filling. Moreover, the filling can be both sweet and spicy. In our case, we will talk about dessert, and therefore plums will serve as a filling. In general, a pie in one form or another and under different names can be found in any cuisine of the world. So in France it is customary to call it tarte or quiche, in Arab countries flat matrabaki pies are very popular, in the USA such confectionery products are called pai nu in their own way, etc. No less diverse are the types of dough that are used for pies.

There are puff, yeast, biscuit and even shortbread pies with fillings from berries, fruits, cheese and cottage cheese, cereals and nuts. Sometimes there are completely unique images, for example, imagine if we cooked our dessert and placed it not as it should be, but upside down - we would get a very popular plum cake inverted in France. It would also be possible to prepare a dense shortbread dough and not roll it out, but rub it on a baking sheet - here's an excellent plum shortcake called grated. And if we left the filling open, we could make an American-style plum pie. Well, there are hundreds, if not thousands, of such options.

In general, there is a unique pie not only in any country, but even in any small town or region. Everyone is trying to create a so-called feature of the area by designating it with a certain dish. This is how Ossetian pie, Christmas pumpkin and pecan pie in America and Tatar rice pies appeared. As for our dessert, it is not famous for any special merits - its main asset is a very special taste, which you will still be able to appreciate, but for now a few words about the benefits of the dish.

If you were hoping to read here about what to eat pies, we hasten to upset you, you will not find such lines. Yes, nothing has changed and desserts, including pies, are still of little value and inevitably lead to weight gain. However, if you eat them wisely and fill them with useful ingredients as much as possible, you can minimize the danger. In our case, this is exactly what we were aiming for.

    • Secondly, we introduced not one but several ingredients into the filling.
    • Thirdly, we minimized the amount of granulated sugar, thereby reducing the calorie content of the dish.
