In addition to a food product, cabbage was also considered an excellent remedy for the prevention of various diseases.

    Regarding the origin of the word itself, there is an opinion that it could have appeared from the Russian word "eat" - food or "eat" - a liquid brew. I must say that these are not the only versions, but probably the most plausible, in our opinion. In each region, cabbage soup was cooked differently, and only the approach to cooking itself remained the same for everyone. They cooked or simmered cabbage soup in a kettle or in an earthen pot, and certainly in an oven. After cooking, the cabbage soup must certainly be infused. And this whole process remains unchanged to this day. So today we will offer our recipe and cook cabbage soup with chicken.

    Ingredients:

    • White cabbage - 300 g
    • Chicken (any part) - 500 g
    • Potatoes - 3-4 pcs. (500 g)
    • Carrots - 1 pc. (80 g)
    • Bulb onion - 1 pc. (75 g)
    • Tomato sauce - 3 tablespoons
    • Soup spices - 1 tsp
    • Salt - 1 tsp
    • Drinking water - 1.5 l
    • Vegetable oil - 3-4 tablespoons
    • Sour cream - to taste
    • Fresh herbs to taste.

    Preparation:

    1. Prepare food: peel and wash potatoes, carrots, onions.

    2. Put chicken pieces (I have drumsticks) in a saucepan, add water, cook, wait for the liquid to boil, reduce heat to a minimum.

    3. Grate the carrots on a coarse grater, finely chop the onion.

    4. Heat the vegetable oil in a frying pan and put the chopped vegetables, fry until soft for about 7 minutes, stirring regularly, then add the tomato sauce and after 5 minutes remove the pan from the stove.

    5. Cut the potatoes into cubes.

    9. Add the fried vegetables with tomato sauce to the pan 20 minutes after the cabbage. Salt, add spices.

    10. Cook everything together for another 10 minutes, then remove the pan with ready-made cabbage soup from the stove.
