    Salads are known to have a long history. In Italian, this dish is called "salato" or "salata" and means "salty". Usually this is a cold dish (there are, however, warm ones), which is prepared from a mixture of various vegetables or fruits, herbs, root crops, mushrooms, beans with various seasonings. Depending on the recipe, the salad is seasoned with vegetable oil, vinegar, sour cream, mayonnaise, lemon juice, and various spices. Salads are prepared, as a rule, immediately before the meal.

    The custom of eating salad is already found among the ancient Romans, who prepared salads from onions, endives, olive oil, broth, vinegar and honey. In the Middle Ages, salad was made from onion, peppermint, garlic and parsley. Salads are also prepared from various kinds of chopped foods - say, a cheese salad, which consists of grated cheese, a hard-boiled egg and sour cream or mayonnaise, which may not contain any vegetables at all. Or, for example, herring salad - a mixture of chopped vegetables with herring (remember "herring under a fur coat"). In addition, salads are prepared from meat, sausage, seafood with salt, oil, vinegar, mayonnaise, etc. One of the most famous meat salads is Olivier.

    The composition of salads often includes greens: parsley, dill, celery, green onions. Salads can be made all year round using seasonal vegetables and other produce. In general, historically it so happened that almost all food products mixed in any proportions and combinations can be used in salads. The only serious requirement is the compatibility of all ingredients to taste. Equally important is the choice of a suitable filling. In order not to spoil the taste of the salad, chefs first advise trying a new dressing on a small handful of lettuce, and only then, if everything is fine, you can fill the whole salad. Almost all salads are salted just before serving, especially green salads. Well, let's add that, oddly enough, the French salad actually has nothing to do with France, since it was invented in the USSR.


    • Green onion - 2 feathers;
    • Green apple - 1 piece;
    • Chicken egg - 2 pieces;
    • Carrots - 1 piece;
    • Hard cheese - 50 g;
    • Mayonnaise - 100 g;
    • Salt - to taste;
    • Black ground pepper - to taste.


    1. Finely chop the green onion feathers, first, of course, without forgetting to wash it. You can use not only green onions, but also ordinary onions. However, in this case, it is necessary to soak the already chopped onion in boiling water to remove the bitterness.

      For salad, we need finely chopped green or onion. If using onions, pre-soak them in boiling water.

    2. Put the salad ring on the plate in which we will serve the salad. Put the chopped onion in the first layer. Add some mayonnaise. By the way, if you suddenly do not have a special salad ring, you can always use a wide tin can. In order for it to turn into a salad ring, you just need to cut the bottom of the jar.

      Place the salad ring on a plate and put a layer of onions in it.

    3. My apple, peel and rub on a coarse grater. It is not recommended to use a fine grater, because in this case the apple will give too much juice.

      Peel the apple and rub it larger.

    4. Spread the grated apple on top of the green onion layer. Salt and pepper to taste.

      Place a layer of grated apple on top of the onion.

    5. Lubricate the apple layer with mayonnaise.

      We smear the salad with mayonnaise.

    6. Hard-boil chicken eggs, peel and rub on a coarse grater.

      Boil the eggs, peel and also rub on a grater.

    7. Sprinkle the egg layer with salt and pepper to taste.

      Salt the layer of eggs and season with spices.

    8. Like the previous ones, we also grease this layer with mayonnaise.

      Again smear the salad with mayonnaise.

    9. My carrots and peel, rub on a fine grater. Some versions of this recipe use boiled carrots, but in most cases, raw carrots are still used among the ingredients. HozOboz believes that it is not without reason, because with fresh carrots this salad turns out to be more juicy and tender.

    10. Put a layer of carrots in a ring, a little salt and pepper.

      We form the next layer of salad from fresh carrots, which can also be seasoned a little.

    11. We tamp the carrots a little and grease with mayonnaise.

      Tamp the salad and brush with mayonnaise again.

    12. Grate hard cheese on a fine grater.

      Rub smaller cheese.

    13. Put the last layer in the ring - cheese.

      Put the last layer of lettuce in the ring - cheese.

    14. Remove the ring, decorate the salad with green onions. You can submit!
