In Western Georgia, in general, poultry makes up the bulk of the meat diet. Initially, the vegetable mixture was prepared with game, for example, using pheasant meat. But at the moment, chakhokhbili is prepared from any poultry meat, and game is still from the realm of exotics.

    • Tomatoes - 5-6 ripe fruits are enough. In general, there should be exactly as many tomatoes as necessary to completely cover them with a mass of chicken pieces.
    • Bulgarian pepper - 1 pc.
    • Onions - 2 large onions. You can do more, chakhokhbili is just the dish that you can’t spoil with onions.
    • Garlic - 3 cloves.
    • Herbs - to taste. HozOboz recommends using herbs such as dill, parsley, cilantro, basil.
    • Suneli hops, salt - to taste.
    • Butter - 2 tbsp. spoons.

    How to cook chakhokhbili
