But in our area, in Eastern Europe, buckwheat appeared much later, but it also entrenched itself much more reliably.

During excavations on the modern territory of the Vinnitsa region, buckwheat seeds from the II-III century were found. The main reliable data regarding this culture is considered to be the mention of it in the "Tale of Igor's Campaign" dated 1185. Already by the 17th century, the main supplier of buckwheat in Europe was Ukraine, which grew it more than all steel crops combined. They boiled it, stewed it in the oven, made flour from it, and then baked bread and pancakes, even made desserts from buckwheat.

    Ingredients:

    • Buckwheat - 200 g
    • Water - 300 ml
    • Carrot - 1 pc.
    • Salt - 1 tsp
    • Dried oregano - 1 tsp (or favorite spices)
    • Onion - 1 pc.
    • Vegetable oil - 4 tbsp.
    • Ketchup or tomato sauce - 2 tbsp.
    • Bulgarian pepper - 1 pc.
    • Fresh parsley - to taste

    Cooking:

    1. Prepare the necessary ingredients, clean and wash the vegetables. Rinse the buckwheat in cold water until the liquid is completely transparent.

    2. Grind the vegetables: cut the pulp of the pepper into cubes, grate the carrots on a coarse grater, chop the onion into small cubes.
