Hello dear readers. In this review, let's talk about dessert again. Confectionery sausage made from biscuits has long been a well-known Soviet delicacy. This recipe can be safely attributed to the category of "craving for inventions". An uncomplicated set of cakes and other sweets that were offered to us during the years of Soviet "abundance" easily fit into a small school notebook. The housewives of that time carefully kept all the recipes dear to their hearts in just such a notebook and diligently made small changes there that made their dishes unique.

And although today the variety of desserts can simply strike you down, your favorite recipe since childhood - confectionery sausage made from cookies still makes your heart beat faster. We will certainly talk about how to make cookies called confectionery sausage with cocoa, but for now, a little history.

    History of the dish

In different countries, for many centuries, they have a weakness for strange names of dishes. Pastry sausage is one of such experiments, along with the famous "mouse in the mink" in Britain, which is actually nothing more than a sausage wrapped in Yorkshire pudding or Thai "son-in-law eggs", which are actually just boiled and then fried in deep fried chicken eggs with tamarind sauce.

No less strange may seem pasta called "strangled priest" or Turkish eggplant "imam in a swoon". So, friends, our favorite confectionery sausage made from cookies with condensed milk is not at all a gimmick, or at least definitely not the strangest one in world culinary. By the way, as sad as it may sound, it is very similar to the fact that it was not our fellow countrymen who came up with the chocolate sausage, but the Germans. It was in Germany at the beginning of the 20th century that a recipe with the name "cold dog" was first entered into a cookbook.

And according to the testimony of some especially observant Germans, it is believed that a similar dish existed in German cuisine even earlier, in the 18th century, and was then called "Cake rusk". Most likely, such a dessert became a successful way to save the remaining sweets and was prepared from pastries and biscuit cakes that were lying on the counter. Nevertheless, there are products that the classic confectionery sausage from cookies and its recipe certainly imply, namely butter and cocoa. Everything else is a matter of taste and imagination. It's time to find out what we have fantasized for you today.
